Our Green Story
We only have one planet, and at Stonehouse Court, we want to do our bit to protect it. We are passionate and committed to reducing our carbon footprint and making our business more sustainable, with aims of reducing waste, growing our own veg, protecting our wildlife and working with local producers.
Having been awarded a Silver Green Tourism Award we pride ourselves on ensuring we are continuously improving our sustainability: from our refillable eco toiletries, our commitment to 100% renewable electric supply, ensuring that we reduce, reuse and recycle to continuously finding new ways to reducing our carbon footprint, supporting our local community and celebrating the beauty of our natural environment.
Our Current Projects
Little Court: Our Sustainable Suppliers
Every element of Little Court has been carefully considered to blend heritage with sustainability, craftsmanship, and timeless design. We’ve collaborated with some exceptional designers and suppliers to bring this vision to life, ensuring every detail, from furniture to lighting, reflects our commitment to quality and eco-conscious luxury.
Squid Inc Design Studio
To reimagine Little Court, we partnered with Squid Inc, an innovative design studio known for blending contemporary style with historic character. Their approach has carefully preserved the original 19th-century architectural features while incorporating modern luxury, ensuring each space feels both timeless and inviting.
Lloyd Loom
Our hand-crafted wicker-style furniture comes from Lloyd Loom, a company with over a century of history in producing classic, elegant designs. Each piece is built with quality and comfort in mind, adding a touch of heritage to our interiors.
Landmark Lighting
The atmospheric walkway connecting Little Court to the main house is beautifully illuminated by Landmark Lighting. Their timber Eye Bollards, crafted from FSC-certified oak, feature bat-friendly LED lights and have a 20-25 year lifespan - combining sustainability with elegance.
Thomas Hoblyn Landscape Design
Acclaimed landscape designer Thomas Hoblyn is restoring the connection between Little Court and Stonehouse Court’s manor house. The designs, created by Jane Fitzgerald White, follow the original coach pathway, linking the two buildings through beautifully landscaped gardens. A newly planted orchard and productive gardens further enhance the estate’s natural charm.
Nkuku
Sustainability is at the heart of our design choices, which is why we turned to Nkuku for mirrors and lighting. Their ethically sourced, handcrafted products add warmth and charm to Little Court, including our stunning central hallway light - crafted from recycled, hand-blown glass.
Ruth Hickson
Renowned local artist Ruth Hickson is creating exclusive guest maps for Little Court, adding a bespoke touch to each stay. These beautifully illustrated guides will celebrate the history of the estate and its surroundings, helping guests explore the Stroud Valley in style.
Kalinko
Bringing timeless craftsmanship to our interiors, Kalinko’s handmade baskets from Burma offer both beauty and practicality, supporting skilled artisans and local communities.
Still and Bloom
The stunning rustic wood furniture throughout Little Court is handmade by British company Still and Bloom. With a strong focus on sustainability, they use reclaimed and FSC-sourced materials, ensuring a minimal environmental impact. Plus, for every order placed, a tree is planted - making your stay a little greener.
Pooky Lighting
Lighting is key to creating the inviting ambiance at Little Court, and Pooky was the perfect choice. Known for their stylish and sustainable designs, Pooky ensures every piece is made ethically and responsibly.
Nespresso
To ensure our guests can enjoy the perfect morning coffee, each room at Little Court is equipped with a Nespresso machine. Combining convenience with great taste, Nespresso also leads the way in coffee sustainability, with recyclable pods and eco-conscious sourcing.
