Our ‘Pass On a Clean Scheme’ helps us conserve energy and water from cleaning a room, while guests enjoy a free drink on us and we make a contribution to our community project fund. Our gardener is busy planting for the summer season, choosing a range of different fruits and vegetables ready for us to use in our kitchens once grown. These fresh ingredients are guaranteed to improve the quality and taste of our meals as well as reduce our carbon footprint!

We are currently working to install motion sensors in all our corridors and ancillary areas with the aim to reduce our electricity consumption by 30%. We are also looking at how solar energy can be implemented in an historic context.

We have started to enlist the help of local suppliers when looking to purchase ingredients or other stock for our hotel! Not only has this helped to air miles, it also allows us to serve produce that’s fresh, seasonal and bursting with flavour.

At Stonehouse Court, we are also working on using greener energy sources and reducing the amount of energy we use throughout the hotel. By considering where our energy is coming from, we are holding ourselves responsible for our own carbon footprint, which pushes us to make the change towards greener energy.

Through our supplier SSE, we are now using 100% renewable energy throughout our hotel! We have also started to implement energy saving bulbs and appliances in order to maintain our status of renewable energy and reduce our carbon footprint.
